2008 FISHING REPORTS
nov 29 today's final charter with steve had 10 blackfish to 4lbs
on a wreck then we jigged a dozen short Bass to end the season
on a good note

nov 26 today's charter jigged a few stripers on the ct side then
we hit wreck for blacks after severel anckor adjustments in 3-4 ft
seas  we finally hit paydirt limiting out in just 1 hr at the start of
the tidewith fish to 5 lbs.

nov 20 today's open boat  trip started off jigging and it was a
little picky still had few blues and bass.ankored up on a 80ft
wreck and the togs wre ready to chew.the guys put 18 keepers
in the boat before the tide went slack.

nov 18   today's charter braved the wind and cold started jigging
with the snow  coming down .we put 8 stripers up to 21.25 lbs in
the boat and 10 blues to 10bs.we ankored on a rockpile nearby
then put 20 blacks in the boat keeping 10 up to 6.5 lbs

nov 17 today's open boat trip with bob saw 10 blacks come
aboard up to 5 lbs.we switched to jigging had 10 bluefish and 6
stripers

nov 14 todays 2 man charter started off jigging off cranes with
super action 2 keeper stripers out of 12 caught and 20 bluefish
to 12 lbs.we hit a deep water wreck last of the flood where we
picked 8 keeper blacks to 7 3/4 lbs and 1 keeper seabass.the
change of tide shutdown the blackfish bite.

nov 12 todays charter hit the wrecks over 100ft deep with lots of
life 16 keepers came aboard all quality fish 5-8 lbs.we also
jigged 6 stripers and 10 blues to 11 lbs

nov 9 big blow out of the west with 2-4 ft seas today headed for
rockpiles east of the light had 23 keepers nothing big 4lbs tops
still better than staying home

nov 8 everything that could go wrong did today rain fog bad wind
direction and uncooperative fish still everyone had enough keeper
blacks and bluefish for dinner.

nov 7 tryed a 100ft wreck today and hit the jackpot with 24
keepers with ave size of 5-6 lbs and 2 slobs of 10 and 10.9 lbs

nov 5 todays trip started jigging stripers and blues with some real
gators in the 12-14 lb class.switched over to blacks and had 14
keepers to 6.5 lb

nov 4  barry bergmans group saw awesome fishing for blacks
with 24 keepers in just 2 hours with 5 fish falling into the 7-8 3/4
lb range

nov 1 marc rybacki's group picked away at the blacks on the
incoming then we hit a deep water wreck 1st outgo where we
limited on nice blacks with 7,8,8.5 LBS AND A TOTAL OF 24
KEEPERS.

oct31 today;s charter banged the blacks with 25 keepers in the
3-6 lb class also had 25 bluefish 3-11 lbs


oct 26  nice weather and another solid catch of blacks with 20
fish coming aboard we kept 12 blacks between 3.5 and 6.75 lbs
fishing the rockpiles

oct 24 todays charter had great weather and fishing was super
we had 26 blackfish with 16 keepers with fish 4 to 8lbs with a few
keeper seabass mixed in


oct 21   light winds enabled us to hit the deep water wrecks today
still limited out with Blacks to 6lbs today.then we jigged 10lb
blues in 90 ft water to end the day


oct 20 todays charter saw a huge improvement in blackfishing
with 6 keepers a man with most in 3-5 lb class.water temps
dropped to 60.4  after 3 day blow

oct 15 todays charter picked away at the blacks and limited out
with fish to 4.5 lbs.in the mix were keeper sea bass and big
porgies


oct 8 first blackfish trip saw a few keepers ,each wreck held a
surprise some saw loads of big porgies,some had keeper
seabass and one had jumbo bluefish 10-14 lbs,truly mixed bag
fishing right now

oct 4 glenn's family had plenty of action today with 17 Bluefish
to 10 lbs 1 Striped Bass ,25 Porgies and 2 SeaBass.

sept 28 today's charter  saw super action  jigging with 40 bluefish
and Striped Bass  up to 10lbs.water temp is 66 degrees
blackfishing still 2 weeks away.

sept 20  eddie and matty had super action diamond jigging with a
limit 30 bluefish to 10lbs plus 10 striped bass to 27 inches

sept 17-18 fall fishing is f\inally here ran to the west today found
bass and blues on the jigging grounds  mostly shorts but plenty of
them plus a few keepers and blues to 10lbs,still all the porgies
you want


aug 17-sept 3 every trip during this period saw limit catches of
blues to 15 lbs both chunking and jigging.jumbo porgies have been
on same grounds as blues.The limit per person is now 45 its time
to fill the freezer

aug 16  it don't get better than this a limit of blues to 10lbs and a
limit of  big porgies  on the same drop.

aug 13 nice solid bite on chunks today 15 blues to 10 lbs. a try at
bottom fishing yielded half a dozen big porgies and keeper
seabass
as well as a 22 inch fluke on clam bait.

aug 5 insane bite on the jigs ,20 blues to 8 lbs on the jigs then set
up with chunks on the incoming for another 15 blues to 10 lbs.

aug  4 nw wind was blowin 3.3 kt ebb tide at sunrise Bass were
chewin 7 Stripers in the boat 3 keepers to 33inches plus 20 blues
to 10lbs.

aug 2 todays charter chunked 10 blues at start of tide,switched
to jigs put another 10 blues to 10 lbs plus 3 stripers in the
boat.then we finished the day fluking with 15 fluke we did
manage 1 keeper.

jul 30  today's charter saw an awesome bluefish bite on the
chunks
with 20 Bluefish in the 6-10 lb class boated

jul 27 todays charter chunked the middle grounds 13 big blues
including a monster 16.5 lb  fish .1 striper  of 33 inches made it
to the cooler also,plus 8 big porgies.

jul 26 todays scouting  trip  located  some big bluefish  to 13 lbs  
well as couple of Stripers to 31 inches

jul 21 today's charter saw action right away with Stripers busting
the surface at sunrise 2 keepers hit the deck before we settled in
2 chunk the remainder of the tide for 8 blues to 10 lbs

jUL 9-15 each trip picked away at the blues with 6-10 a trip to 8
lbsa bunch of porgies and some keeper seabass.Striper fishing
was slow with only some shorts showing


jul 8 todays  charter had nice pick of blues on the ebb as well as
3 stripers 1 keeper 31" and 2 shorts 10 bluefish 3-6 lbs,half a
dozen porgies.

jul 6  today we found our way thru the fog to the middle grounds
and the bluefish were in a biting mood 10 bluefish 6-12 lbs as well
as a 35 inch bass hit the chunks

jul 5  today's charter limited out on big porgies early they also
had 4 keeper seabass of 8 caught.then we chunked the change
of tide
at the middle grounds boating 1 keeper striper and losing a bigger
one at the boat.A try for Fluke ay bouy 11 had a 6lb 25 inch fluke
on the second drift as well as some bluefish.

Jul 3  a  charter for  the guys from ITT Corp  had  blast jigging
Stripers and Blues 6 Stripers came aboard as well as 15 Bluefish
8-12 lbs.

jUL 1  had a charter with Richard Schaper we had 2 keeper
Stripers,4 shorts and 10 Bluefish 4 to 10lbs

june 30   Teamed up the Capt Mike Boccio of the Prime Time 3
out at Orient fishing the Race  We limited out on Bass top fish
of 45 LBS 47 INCHES LONG

june 29  todays chunking trip  saw a 35 inch  striper come aboard
in the first 5 minutes of the trip then the rest of the trip we picked
away short stripers and numerous bluefish


june 21  todays' trip had 70 Porgies in a few hours.then went to
the middle grounds where we boated 15 seabass and kept 8 to
2.5lbs
as well as some monster 2lb porgies.

June 13 today's charter from ITT CORP diamond  jigged a mess
of stripers and bluefish .3 Keeper Stripers came aboard a well
as several  Large blues up to 10lbs it was steady action all day.


june  8  today frank bigelow's group hit a bluefish bonanza
minutes from the dock all 2-4 lb fish on light tackle a couple of
short bass
were mixed in.

june 2-6 Ran the boat out to Orient Point for a Vacation trip,fished
4 days had 19 keeper Stripers with 5 fish in the 20-26 LB Class
plus all Bluefish you can handle.All action was on Diamond jigs
and Bucktails in the Plum Gut in crankin new moon currents,


june 1 today's trip started off with James & jim JR bailing
the bluefish they put away 25 blues in the 2-3 lb class
then we hit the chunking spot ,no Bass but we get
24 inch 5lb 8 oz Fluke

may 26  today's trip with james and christina had 3 fluke
of 3 1/2 and 4 1/2 lbs,19 inch short.,8 bluefish all on the outgoing.

may 24  nick and justin had 3 fluke right away and 1 bluefish
then the bottom dropped out for a tough pick on the incoming

may 22 phil and mike  fishing in rainy windy conditions still
managed a few fluke  with 1 keeper half a dozen blues ,2
stripers up to 26 inches

may 18 frank biglelows group jigged all the blues they wanted at
bouy 11 then swiched over  to a pick of fluke to 4 lbsss
